Zero

Zero (0.email) is an “AI-native” email client that changes how you manage your inbox. It summarizes threads, drafts smart replies, organizes emails automatically and lets you interact with your inbox through a chat interface.

Intelligence Artificielle

Zero is currently in public beta; some features are available for free. Paid plans will come to unlock more capabilities (volume, intelligence, prioritization, integrations).

Overview

{{block-cta-1}}

Zero positions itself as the email client of the future: not just a tool for reading and writing, but a smart assistant that understands your inbox as a whole. It goes beyond “AI add-ons” (plugins, extensions): AI sits at the core of the experience. Zero analyzes your threads, detects priorities, summarizes long conversations, suggests suitable replies and lets you “talk to your inbox” through a chat interface.

The tool aims to drastically cut the time spent sorting, replying to, following up on and organizing emails. Over time, it learns your preferences: which emails deserve priority, how you like to reply, which conversations need a follow-up later.

Zero supports Gmail and Outlook accounts and offers a fast, smooth, keyboard-first interface. It is also open source, which means more transparency and the option to self-host for those who want to keep control of their data.

Pros

  • Smart prioritization: important emails rise to the top, less urgent ones are set aside
  • Thread summaries: no need to reread hundreds of messages
  • Context-aware writing: suggests suitable replies you can edit
  • Chat-style interface: interact naturally with your inbox
  • Open source with a self-hosting option: more control over your data
  • Smooth, keyboard-driven experience built for power users

Cons

  • Still in beta: some features may be limited or unstable
  • The quality of summaries and replies depends heavily on context and how clear the exchanges are
  • For very technical emails, personal jargon or complex feedback, the AI can lack precision
  • The free plan is likely to come with quotas or restrictions
  • Moving to a paid plan will probably be needed for everyday, large-scale use
  • For some users, switching to an “AI-assisted inbox” mindset may take some getting used to

Studio Elias’s take

At Studio Elias, we think Zero has strong potential to rethink how we work with email:

  • It promises to “give time back” in the day by cutting repetitive sorting, reading, summarizing and follow-up tasks
  • It is especially useful for people who receive a lot of email but want to stay efficient
  • While it is in beta, we use it as an experimental tool in our productivity stack
  • We recommend it for technical, curious users who are ready to try new ways of managing email
  • For critical uses or very sensitive flows, however, we would use it with caution, always with a human review
